Dr. Mitra Kadivar, is a medical doctor and a Freudo–Lacanian psychoanalyst. After graduating from School of Medicine in 1979 she headed for West in order to continue her education, and in September 1993 after years passed in Paris and New York returned to her motherland. In Paris she was analyzed by a senior psychoanalyst who was a member of École de la Cause Freudienne (ECF) and a member of World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP) for 10 years and 4 sessions per week – according to worldwide criteria for training psychoanalysts. Analyst of Dr. Kadivar, himself, was analyzed by Jacque Lacan in person. Dr. Kadivar’s personal psychoanalysis was qualified and subsequently confirmed by the most outstanding jury commissions of École de la Cause Freudienne (ECF) and World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP) and afterwards she was admitted as a member of these two highly estimated institutions. After foundation of Eurofederation of Psychoanalysis (EFP) Dr. Kadivar won the honor of membership in this international institution as well. Dr. Mitra Kadivar is the only member of World Association of Psychoanalysis in Iran.
World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP) has the status of Special consultant in United Nations Organization and École de la Cause Freudienne (ECF) is the most high-ranking Lacanian psychoanalysis reference in the world and has been founded by Jacque Lacan himself.
In November 2009 in Paris Jacque Allain Miller in the speech for opening of Universite populaire Jacques Lacan (UPJL) appreciated Dr. Kadivar’s 16- year efforts for the enhancement of status of psychoanalysis and in June 2013 in the international congress of Euro Federation of Psychoanalysis (PIPOL 6) in Brussels, a section of the congress was named “Mitra” in her honour.
Dr. Mitra Kadivar has been the honorary guest and special speaker of many international congresses from which we can name international congress of World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP) in April 2010 in Paris and intercontinental congress of New Lacanian School (NLS) in June 2013 in Geneva. She is now a practicing, training and supervising analyst in Tehran and president of Freudian Association of Iran.
